Vitra’s Eames LAR armchair charms with a combination of a steel wire base and a wide, softly undulating polypropylene seat. The name LAR comes from the words Dining Lounge Height Armchair Rod Base, and the comfy seat has also earned the chair a nickname “Cat’s Cradle”.
The Plastic Eames chairs, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950s, are true design icons whose popularity lies in the ergonomic, timeless design and various leg options. The original model with a fibreglass seat was the first industrially produced plastic chair – today, the chair is available also in durable polypropylene.
